John McKenna

About John McKenna

John McKenna moved from his native Scotland nearly twenty years ago, to be near his family in South Devon. He had a long career as a paramedic in the Royal Navy and in Health and Social Care and the Voluntary Sector. He is now happily retired - but not from life!

When he’s not writing, John loves walking Devon’s coastal paths and nearby Dartmoor and spending time with his family.

He has written poetry and short stories since childhood. His short story: Hotel Capo De Bonta is published in the 2023 South Hams Authors Network anthology of short stories, Grasping the Nettle.

He published his debut novel Return to Xanthos in February 2024 and has recently co-authored ‘Eclipse,’ an anthology of short stories, with Tony Rea and Anne Thomson.
